The Eric Memorial Cup is an annual 5-a-side football tournament held in loving memory of Eric Rodrigues — a passionate and exceptionally talented footballer from Pune. Known for his skill, dedication, and sportsmanship, Eric was regarded as one of the finest players in the local football circuit, consistently representing top teams and leaving his mark in numerous tournaments.
Tragically, Eric’s life was cut short in a road accident, leaving behind a void in the football community that can never truly be filled. To honor his legacy and keep his spirit alive, his family and friends initiated the Eric Memorial Cup — a tournament that celebrates not just the game he loved, but the values he stood for.
Each year, some of Pune’s most competitive teams, including well-known names like Panna Boys, Romans, and Kalina Rangers, come together to compete with passion and respect.
